Punctuation

I have been thinking about the concept of punctuation relates to our lives. There are many times that what we know in our gut and what we feel is right should finish off a sentence with a period. We know it’s true, we know it is what we are supposed to do, and that is the end of it, right? Wrong.

Unfortunately I see many people at my office, myself included, who take these “sentences” and fail to finish it with a period and put a question mark in its place.

Think about this; if you feel peace and hear the Lord say, “Go and do this.” notice that there is a period. When we don’t understand that is a directive, what we do is make the sentence read like this, “Go and do this?” We turn something that should be finished and decided into something requiring contemplation, doubt, and questioning.

I have learned in my own life that I am good at question marks. Many times I want to question God, my husband, or others instead of taking the sentence as truth and fact.

So what has the Holy Spirit been speaking to you lately? Is there something you should already be doing but instead you are questioning? Think about your life “sentences” and do your best to use the proper punctuation.
